Winston Ma
Winston Ma is an investor, attorney, author, and adjunct professor in the global digital economy. He is one of a small number of native Chinese who have worked as investment professionals and practicing capital markets attorneys in both the United States and China. Most recently, he was Managing Director and Head of North America Office for China Investment Corporation (CIC), China’s sovereign wealth fund, for 10 years. Prior to that, Mr. Ma served as the deputy head of equity capital markets at Barclays Capital, a vice president at J.P. Morgan investment banking, and a corporate lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Mr. Ma is the author of China's Mobile Economy (Wiley 2016, among “best 2016 business books for CIOs”), Digital Economy 2.0 (2017 Chinese), His new books in 2020 are “The Hunt for Unicorns: How Sovereign Funds Are Reshaping Investment in the Digital Economy” (Wiley October 2020) and “The Digital War - How China’s Tech Power Shapes the Future of AI, Blockchain, and Cyberspace” (Wiley December 2020).

Marcus W. Brauchli
Marcus Brauchli is co-founder and managing partner of North Base Media, a global venture-capital firm that invests in innovative media and technology. Its portfolio includes leading digital media players in Indonesia, India, the Philippines and Mexico, as well as global media brands like Minute Media, Atlas Obscura, and media-tech platforms like Piano, OpenSlate and Syte. Mr. Brauchli serves on the board of Gremi Media, a Polish business-media company listed on the New Connect Market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, as well as on the board of The News Lens, Taiwan’s leading independent digital-media group. He also is an advisor to Datami, a telecommunications technology startup in Massachusetts, and other startups. Before co-founding NBM, Mr. Brauchli was The Washington Post’s executive editor and a vice president of The Washington Post Co. (now Graham Holdings Co.). During his tenure, the Post extended its record of journalistic excellence with seven Pulitzer Prizes. He led initiatives that quadrupled the Post’s digital audience and integrated digital and video content into its regular output. Mr. Brauchli came to the Post from a long career at The Wall Street Journal, where he was managing editor, the top editor responsible for the Journal globally as well as the Dow Jones Industrial Average and MarketWatch, the financial-news website.

Ms. Cheng received her MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business. She is a Trustee of the following Boards: Vice-Chair of China/US at TNC (The Nature Conservancy); Facing History and Ourselves(past Chair of China Project); Vice-Chair at China Institute; and past Trustee and current member of Committee 100. Ms. Cheng is also China/ Global Council Member of Brookings and a Member of NCUSCR and Columbia University's China Global Center.
