(Sold Out)The Greater Bay Area – China’s plan to build the world’s first mega city.

December 14, 2019 | 6:30pm - 8:30pm EST | New York, NY

With 11 cities, anchored by Guangdong, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Macau, the Greater Bay Area is the urban future of Southern China. With a combined population of 70 million people and occupying just 1% of China’s landmass, it powers 12% of China’s total GDP. It aims to stitch nine mainland cities and two special administrative regions into a new high technology and innovation hub.

SupChina and AABANY Presents:

The Greater Bay Area – China’s Mega Cities.

Central to this concept are infrastructure projects.  Two of three key infrastructure projects have been completed: Inaugurated in 2018, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge significantly reduces travel times from Hong Kong to Zhuhai and Macau.  The second is the Express Rail Link, which also opened in 2018 and connects Hong Kong to Shenzhen and Guangdong, and subsequently to China’s vast high-speed rail network.

Join us as we discuss:

  1. Economic and political ramifications of this plan.
  2. How Hong Kong’s recent political turmoil affects the plan.
  3. What this means for the international community.
